Using Categories to Increase Attendance at Your Events
Who are you, and what are you offering? These are the questions you should ask yourself as you set up your Lifeogeny profile.
The categories are a very important feature of the Lifeogeny platform, and this guide will help ensure that you’re set up for success.
The categories consist of two main levels: primary and secondary.
Aside from their importance when setting up your account and adding specific events, these categories are also used by experience seekers to filter which type of events they wish to see in their upcoming experiences feed. As a result, deciding what categories you wish to select when setting up your experience could impact who sees it.
At Lifeogeny, it’s our goal to create a personalized user experience. These primary categories are essential to providing that curated user experience, while the extensive list of secondary categories enables an even higher level of search-ability and customization.
We encourage you to select all categories that apply when setting up your experiences. Without knowledge of all the categories available to Lifeogeny offers, you may miss an opportunity to expand your reach.
Below, we’ve included some examples explaining how you might select multiple categories for your experiences:
If you are hosting a farmers' market, you would want to select the following:
Food, Beverage & Culinary Arts/Farmers' Market
Entertainment & Family Activity/Street Festivals
Or if you are hosting a music festival, you would want to select the following:
Music & Concerts/Live Music_Festivals
Music & Concerts/[pick genre or genres]
